Who was this Taylor and what was his mistake?
Taylor was named after Captain Taylor of the Volga. Captain beached the American Ship in the bay. He accidentally mistook the bays name. People are suggesting Sumner and other people are pointing to Lyttelton Harbour as Captain Taylor’s meant to be location. His mistake was beaching up onto the wrong bay, which caused him taking the name of the bay. But still from this day this mistake remains unclear of what really happen.
