Henri Matisse - Questionnaire Answers

1. Henri Matisse discovered his love for art when he was 21 years old and had just recovered from an illness. His passion and love for art was discovered.

2. Henri Matisse's first teachers told him to copy the works of art and sculptures from the ‘Old Masters” .

3. Matisse displayed his creations in the Salon D'Automne and he created a new style/form of art known as ‘Fauves’ or ‘Wild Beast’.

4. ‘Fauves’ is a form of art where artists emphasize their feelings with colour and different shapes of different sizes.

5. Matisse began creating colourful, bright pictures that are expressive or decorative and they are revoluntized as Modern Art.
