AmsterDAM
I remember exactly three years ago my family and I went to Europe. We went to all sorts of different places. One of the places we went to was Amsterdam. Amsterdam is known to have many dams in the city, and I happened to fall in one of them.
The dam that I fell into was located in a place called Madurodam. Madurodam is a Amsterdam city miniaturized. I thought that the place was beautiful. Everything we had seen so far in Amsterdam was there. I saw Anne Frank’s house and I spotted the hotel we were living in.
We went to Amsterdam in a tour obviously there was a tour guide who was boring people with the history Madurodam. My family and a few other families decided to go and wander to see the little buildings. We were looking around for a while when I noticed a miniature dam. There was a long line of people waiting to pump water in and out of the mini dam.
When it was my turn I took my place in front of the pump and started pumping. I saw some people from our tour group and waved to them. Just as I was about to turn back to the pump I felt someone bump into me and that caused me to slip in the dam. The water was freezing cold. I could hear laughter from the people who I waved to. Even in the freezing water my cheeks went hot pink.
I don’t know how long I was in the water but then as I slowly stood up and walked out of the water, I felt something cold and and metallic brush beside my leg. It was a rotting old coca cola can that I didn’t notice. I was disgusted by it and yelled really loudly. As I did so I slipped back into the water. Now I was twice as wet. I started crying and ran towards my parents who were mad at me for being so careless. I tried to tell them that I had gotten pushed into the water but they didn’t believe me. Unfortunately the hotel was thirty minutes away from Madurodam. Till then my mother bought me souvenir clothes from the gift shop. We couldn't find any pants so I had to wear my dad's long raincoat over my pink t-shirt. To this day I still have my t-shirt we bought from the gift store. I wanted to keep it as a souvenir from my fall.
Even though we made many memories in Europe this was my favorite memory. Everytime I think about my great fall I can’t help laughing.
