The Boring Bus Ride
Boarding the bus,
There was a lot of fuss,
Finding a seat,
Looking neat,
The engine starts,
I smell a fart,
Noise level rises,
We’re in for surprises,
It's hot and stuffy,
No one's feeling light or fluffy,
The roads are getting empty,
Not to mention, bumpy and windy,
We start to play games,
Our mood doesn't change,
I point out some cows,
My friends laugh out loud,
Seeing the sign for Raglan,
I’m finally feeling glad again.
The Marvelous Marae
Watching the birds fly,
High up into the sky, We are welcomed into a Marae,
With our heads up high,
Souls filled with pride,
We sing our song,
Hoping the locals will sing along,
I hear my tummy rumble,
I start to mumble,
After we've eaten,
We start to learn,
About the pain and the burns,
It's like a blast from the past,
When the stories are over,
I thought i Saw a clover,
We learn maori games,
No one thinks they are lame,
When we are told our time here is over,
I think about the amazing times we’ve had,
At a Marae,
I look into the sky, For one last time,
Before we go into an unknown place,
Wondering what lays ahead.
Nerve Wracking Nighttime Activities
I’m feeling really light,
While walking to play spotlight,
Holding my breath and torch,
On the porch
Don't want to be found,
Suddenly i hear footsteps on the muddy ground,
Closing my eyes,
Thinking about paradise,
No that i’ve been found,
I'm also walking on the muddy ground,
Heading to the burma trail,
Hoping I don’t fail to find my way out,
Before the lights go out,
The lights are still on and
I'm walking on the lawn,
Mollie’s crying like crazy,
The yellow lights seem hazy,
To lighten the mood,
We talk about food,
It's time to roast marshmallows,
With all my fellow,
Classmates and friends,
Waiting for this crazy night to end.
Superb Surfing
Wading down onto the beach,
The sea smells pretty neat,
Wading into the waves,
From they look tame,
Kneeling on a surfboard,
I turn to look at my friends,
Who (by the way) are far from bored,
I feel a wave and start to paddle,
Now I'm craving a delicious apple,
Time is up,
I see a pup,
Time to head back to camp,
We are all feeling pretty damp.
The Lovely Low Ropes
We did many activities today,
But the low ropes were my fav,
The challenge was fun,
But the day wasn’t done,
Kiratpreet persevered,
While being really weird,
She couldn’t stop falling,
Watching her wasn’t boring,
We all had a good laugh,
Then somebody let out a fart…
More of the boring bus…
Eating a sub,
My tummy filled up,
To get my bag on the bus,
Was a very big task,
On our way backto Auckland,
There was not much rockland,
Mollie ways singing lullabys,
While watching the birds fly,
Kiratpreet was being unusual
But that was pretty usual
The ride back was very boring,
Half the bus was already snoring.
Special Mention
Now that I’m home,
All alone,
I can finally stop,
Writing in this bok non-stop,
This ending is dedicated to my friends,
Who stuck with me till the end,
This journey is something I couldn’t do,
If I hadn't been sitting right beside you.
