Shoes Memoir
I remember the best day of my life when i got those new black shoes that I longed to have for a long time and had finally got them.
“Please can I have those shoes everybody at school has them but why not me”, I shouted at my mum. “Jack, you know that we are very poor and we can not afford to buy extra things”, Mum said angrily. “It's just not fair you always say no to whatever I want”, I screamed and ran away to my room. I plunged into my bed and placed my pillow on top of my head. “It’s not fair, now i am going to be the odd one out. Everyone is going to laugh at me because I will be the only one that has these light brown old worn out shoes that has a hole in the left shoe,” I said as I started to cry. I couldn’t stop crying. The tears just wouldn’t stop.
After about 3 hours I had finally stopped crying and maybe fallen asleep as well. I got up from my bed and walked into the living room and looked up at the clock. It was 6:00pm. “It’s time to go to bed,” I said heading to my room. “Well hopefully tomorrow I won’t be the only one without those shoes”.
I now arrived to school at 8:00am and as I was walking through the front gate I saw every single boy with those black shoes with those white laces. I kept on walking but faster now so nobody would see my old brown shoes. I walked into the classroom even though I was early and sat down at my desk sad with my head down dreaming about everyone with those shoes and my old brown shoes.
“Rinnnnnnnnnngggggg.” I got up from my desk and grabbed my bag. As I walked out of the classroom to go home, my friend Alex walked over to me to say Hi. I looked down at his shoes and to no surprise he had those same black shoes.
I was walking up the brick stone stairs, opened the door and threw my bag on the floor. I said hello to my mum and dad and I walked into my room and sat down on my bed to do my homework. I was about nearly done my homework when my mum and dad walked into the room. In their hands was a box with a picture of a shoe on it. “This is for you,” my mum and dad said. “We felt bad that you don't always get what you want all the time so we got you what you wanted the most.” They left the box on my lap and went out the door. I looked at the box and flung the top open, ripping the tissue paper and picking up the shoes inside. “OMG, THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE”, I said. I ran all around the house screaming with delight with my shoes clutched in my hand. Then I flung the front door open and screamed those same words. “THIS, IS THE BEST DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE”,. Then i walked over the grey stone bricks and sat down. I hugged my new shoes with all my life as I closed my eyes and smiled. “I can’t believe it”.
