Erebus crash
Air New Zealand Flight 901
On the 28th of November the air NZ flight 901 was doing a 11 hour return sightseeing flight to Antarctica but at 12:49pm it crashed into the side of mount Erebus. The crashed killed all of 237 passengers and 20 crew. The plane was found on the lower slopes of Erebus. Air NZ blamed it on the pilot so they wouldn’t ruin their reputation. It was later learnt that it was whiteout conditions and the pilots thought they were somewhere else. This was found out when the black box was found. It was debated whose fault it was some said the pilot others said it was air NZ's systems. This debate still goes on today.
