Shoes
It was a cold Autumns day. I was getting ready for school. I had put on the same old shirt, the same jacket and the same shorts. I remember walking up to the front door and looking at my old, torn up shoes lying there staring at me, waiting to be worn. I had picked up the shoes and put them on. I had then hoisted up my backpack and let it rest on my shoulder. I remember my backpack was a struggle to carry as it weighed more than me, and my shoes didn’t help walking to school one bit. They were ripped and torn. Each and everyday my shoes looked as if they were going to fall off my feet. The sole on my left foot had more holes than a simple slice of swiss cheese and my sole on the right foot had one big gigantic hole in the middle.
That night I remember looking up at the stars and I had made a wish, a wish for new shoes.
In the morning my parents woke me up, telling me that there was a surprise for me at the front door. I had slowly stood up and slowly trudged down the stairs to see a shiny black box sitting on the steps. Curious, I had walked towards the box and opened it. Inside were a pair of shiny, black shoes. Happily I remember turning around to see my parents smiling, happy for me. I had turned the shoes over to see that there were no holes in the shoes. I remember putting on the shoes, and feeling the soft leather on the inside. I then had ran towards my parents, gave them a big long hug and grabbed my old shoes, and threw them in the trash. I then walked all around the house showing off my brand new shoes to my siblings.
That day was the best day ever for me, because I finally had got new shoes!
