My New Shoes
“Today I am getting new shoes for my birthday! I now don't have to use these old dirty wont out shoes”. The shop was magnificent so many shoes. In the shop walls were full. I ran straight over to some blue and white shoes. They were very shiny and new. “Wow!” I picked them up of there stand on the wall and they were my size! There were many more shoes in the shop but the only pair I liked was these clean blue and white shoes. But when we were about to pay the person at the counter said that they were $12.63. This was a disaster because my family was not the richest. We struggled to buy everything we have got. My mum pulled out her change and she only had $7.37. Sadly I had to go choose a different pair of shoes.
The walls were stacked high with shoes varying from $2.43 all the way to $69.57. I looked around, I didn’t find anyone I wanted that were better than the pair of blue and white shoes that I picked up earlier. As I was walking out the door I heard something. “Wait, Stop!!” It was the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper called us over to the counter. There was the shoes that I wanted. The shiny blue and white shoes! Then I recognized the shopkeeper. She was quite young. “Happy Birthday John”The lady at the counter said and she handed over the shoes. I was ecstatic but I wondered how did she know my name? I started at her for a while. Then I realised it was my sisters best friend, Sarah.
I walked outside onto the cold concrete stairs and sat down. Even though the cold concrete steps were ice cold I sat down with my big woolly jacket and watched people on their horses ride down the street. I waited for Sarah to finished her work shift and walked home with her because her house was right next to mine. The cold concrete steps seemed to make time go quicker. I was amazed that I was able to get my dream shoes for a little over 42% off. I sat there smiling with my shoes is my hands waiting for Sarah's shift to end. I also sat there because I didn’t want to go to the shops with my mum. It was a great day!
