Holes Writing Prompts

Chapter 1

When they say the name Camp Green Lake it sounds like a camp sitting in a beautiful dense forest surrounded by flowers and shrubs that has everything that you need. Such as green trees and shimmering turquoise water. Instead in the story they said it is a camp for boys who have committed crimes it has no trees or shimmering aqua water it only has a dirt floor and holes everywhere.

Chapter 2

Think that digging holes can make character and in some reasons i can’t. The reason why i think this is good because some people might have done really bad things and they actually deserve to do this punishment. Second i think that they shouldn’t do this because they can’t make people do what they don’t feel comfortable doing.

Chapter 3

This means even if you fail you will always get back up and learn to always get it right no matter how deep you are because you will always learn from a mistake no matter if you meant it or not. This also means to never give up and have determination and keep on trying until you succeed.

Chapter 4

Mr Sir has a rattle snake tattoo on his arm and every time he moves his arm it seems like the rattlesnake is moving. This sounds like that Mr Sir is gangster sort of person waiting for his next prey.

Chapter 5

I think that they call him “ Mum” because he is the only person in the camp who is actually very nice and the only person who actually understands them.

Chapter 6

The boys don’t believe Stanley that he stole the shoes because they belong to a famous basketball player and who would be so dumb to go throwing shoes around especially a famous person’s.

Chapter 7

Stanley learns that his second one is the hardest so is the the third and the fifth and sixth and so on. He learnt that because he had to dig 5 feet down and the side.

Chapter 8

I believe in curses made from people and i don’t know if it’s just me or what but i believe in ghosts, witches, and scary stuff like that.

Chapter 9

My nickname is normally CARROT but since i have started intermediate my friends call me: KFK, curry with a K,Chicken curry, carrot and peas curry, Carrotpreet.

Chapter 10

I think they line up in the same order because in that way Mr Pendanski knows when they all are finished and it is a memory of when they first came.

Chapter 11

X-ray told Stanley to give him all the things he finds underground when he’s digging. Probably Stanley agrees to this because he thinks that all the things that he finds is useless.

Chapter 12

I don’t really agree with Mr Pendanski because it wasn’t actually Stanley's fault that the shoes came down the sky.

Chapter 13

Stanley loses his entire day off because he decided to help X- ray without asking anyone.

Chapter 14

I was actually very surprised when we discovered that the Warden was actually a lady and i was shocked because we haven’t come across any ladies yet so far in the story.

Chapter 15

I think that all the boys are making it all up because if they were cameras you would have found them by now.

Chapter 16

Maybe Zero is always so busy with his hobby digging holes and he never got the chance to actually sing or watch some TV. Or maybe he might be poor and never got to anyone to actually sing him nursery rhymes.

Chapter 17

Stanley learns that Zig Zag has some sort of allergies. He doesn’t know what it is, but when Stanley was inside he heard some sort of noise and when he found out it was Zig Zag.

Chapter 18

He tells his parents lies so they don’t worry about how he is getting treated. Since their poor he doesn’t want his parents to worry too much about him.

Chapter 19

Stanley told Mr Sir that he stole the Sunflower seeds so his friends X-ray, Zig Zag, Armpit, Zero and Magnet don’t get into trouble. If Mr Sir had asked me who stole the Sunflower seeds i would say the truth and say we have done it on accident and won’t repeat it again.

Chapter 20

The Warden doesn’t raise her voice so Stanley and his friends don’t run away from the camp. The Warden also doesn’t want them to run away because if she is looking for something she doesn’t want the chance to lower down since the boys are running away.

Chapter 21

I think that Zero finished Stanley’s hole because he feels really bad for stanley since he lies to his parents that he is enjoying the camp and that he gets taken care of very well and how he has a lot of fun. Another reason is that Zero likes digging holes and for some reason that’s his hobby.

Chapter 22

I think that Stanley is a nice teacher because he is educated and sensible and very responsible and he likes to teach and help people.

Chapter 23

I think that the portrait of GreenLake does seem realistic and how there were peach trees planted. How there once was shimmering blue water.

Chapter 24

I don’t think that it is Mr Sir’s fault because he kept on filling Stanley’s canteen for him when he shouldn’t be. Neither is Stanley’s fault because each of the boys deserve the same water supply that everyone gets.

Chapter 25

I don’t think that he is a Respected person in the Camp Green Lake community because after what he has done he shouldn’t get a place in the community.

Chapter 26

“Whom did god punish” i think that god punished Kate Barlow for what she did and how she did it. The resson why is because that she forced someone to do something that they didn’t want to do.

Chapter 27

The arrangement that Zero and Stanley made was that If Stanley teaches Zero how to read Zero would do 1 hour of digging Stanley’s hole.

Chapter 28

The warden also has the same turquoise studded boots just like Kate Barlow.

Chapter 30

I think that Stanley should reply back because calling someone a slave is not really a good or nice thing to call someone.

Chapter 31

Maybe Stanley thinks that he might be all wrong about the thumb shaped mountain and he thinks that it would be right if someone could go and check it out and see what it really is.

Chapter 32

Stanley was worried about Zero because he might die due to so many things happening during his life at Camp Green Lake.
