Chapter 1
I believe camp green lake would have alot green grass, lush green trees and massive murky green lake in the middle. Then I learnt what the camp actually was like. The only greenery on the whole camp was two trees holding up a big hammock and the warden was on only person allowed to be there. The rest of the camp was dry dirt everywhere. The campers homes looked like small dusty and cold tents. Then were a lake once was there was just holes, no water, just holes.
Chapter 2
I believe that staying at Camp Green Lake could either make a person good or worse than they came in because some people would leave with never wanting to go back so they would never do anything bad again. Then other people would get mad because they are unfairly treated with food and water so they could leave worse than they came into the camp. Some other unpleasant things that could build character at camp green lake is the food and the amount of water they have access to.
Chapter 3
I believe that when Stanley's father says that he learns from failure it means that if you do something wrong you will know not to make the same mistake you made again so you can improve each time you try.
Chapter 4
Mr Sir has a rattle snake tattoo. I think this tells us that Mr Sir is either has been bitten by a rattlesnake or he likes being around them. I also believe this may mean that he can be very mean and stubborn.
Chapter 5
The boys call Mr Pendanski Mom because it makes them feel better. This nickname doesn’t suit Mr Pendanski because 1. He is not female and he is a collector not a parent.
Chapter 6
The other boys didn't believe Stanley when he claimed he stole sneakers because they may have committed much bigger crimes than stealing sneakers.
I also believe that the other boys didn't believe him because they would have thought stealing sneakers may of just been a fine, not jail or camp green lake.
Chapter 7
Stanley learnt from digging his first hole that the later in the day your digging it for the harder it will get. Stanley also learnt that the deeper down you dig the easier it is. I believe that Stanley feels proud when he had finished his first hole because he had probably never dug a hole as big as he just did. I also think he feels proud because he thought the the first hole was going to be the hardest.
Chapter 8
I don't believe in curses because they are impossible. You can't just say something and it will curse you. I also believe curses are like magic. Magic is an illusion and curses could just be to scare you when they actually do nothing.
Chapter 9
I think that Xray just looks at the person then looks around to see something that could match the person for their nickname. I don’t think Stanley's nickname is the worst out of the boys but its not the best either. I've got two nicknames. One that everyone calls me and one that my friends sometimes call me. My first nickname is actually Ollie because my real name is Oliver. My second nickname is TinyPuppy123 because that's my name that I used for my minecraft
account.
Chapter 10
I believe that all the boys line up in the same order each time is because it could help the person filling the cantens and also it could be the order of leadership in the group.
Chapter 11
X-ray asked Stanley next time Stanley finds something if he would give it to him. I believe that Stanley agrees to this because he doesn’t want to get on X-rays bad side because X-ray is the leader of the group. If this was me I would probably do the same because if you get on a bad side with your group it would make the experience even worse for the rest of the time.
Chapter 12
I don't not agree with Mr Pendanski saying that Stanley had messed up his life and it's time to fix it because Stanley didn’t steal the sneakers he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think this means that he hadn’t messed up his life but he needs to fix the problem he has gotten into by being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Chapter 13
Stanley gains trust from X-ray when he agreed to help him by giving X-ray the next thing he found. Stanley would have lost a day off, not working in the hot sun but I think it was best that Stanley agreed because he needs his group to be nice to him.
Chapter 14
I was not surprised when the warden was a women because a warden can be either a boy or a girl. I learnt that the warden is very strict and she is in control of everything at the camp.
Chapter 15
I believe that the warden is watching them at all times because she knows there nicknames and see knows what they are always doing therefore I don't think the boys are always paranoid.
Chapter 16
I believe that Zero didn’t know anything about sesame street or nursery rhymes because he may not of had parents that would tell nursery rhymes or had a TV, I also think that Zero might not know much because earlier in the story the other boys said he knew nothing.
Chapter 17
I believe that Stanley learnt that Zig Zag will only do the work he has to do. I think if anyone touches his hole and puts more dirt in it, even by accident Zig Zag will make them dig it all up and possibly more.
Chapter 18
I believe that Stanley keeps lying to his parents in his letters because he doesn't want them to worry. I think Stanley also doesn’t want them to know what it is actually like because they will worry about him which could make the 18 months that he's there for miserable for not just him but also his parents.
Chapter 19
I believe that Stanley said that he stole the sunflower seeds because he didn’t want to get on the wrong side with the group because they would hate them and I believe that they will feel like he's a better friend for doing this. I probably would have said Magnet took them because I would rather tell the truth.
Chapter 20
I believe that everyone is scared of the warden because she what she does. I think that everyone is scared of her because what she has done to some people. I also think that she might make some people do extra stuff.
Chapter 21
I think Zero finished Stanley's hole because he knew Stanley didn’t steal the sunflower seeds so he shouldn’t have to keep digging his hole even though he has taken the blame for everyone. I also believe that Zero dug Stanley's hole because he wanted Stanley to teach him how to read and write.
Chapter 22
I believe Stanley is a good teacher because he is taking it slow and he has patient. I have tourt someone this year. (Mr McPhail) about sound and lighting. I learnt that you have to be slow because it is a lot harder to learn when someone is going over everything really fast.
Chapter 23
I think that Green Lake sounds realistic except for the water sparkling like a giant emerald sun because emerald is a very bright green and it would look more like grass rather than water.
Chapter 24
Mr Sir got back at Stanley by not filling his canteen with water. I also think it is Mr SIrs fault that he got scratched by the warden because she only wants to see good stuff not being told about someone stealing sunflower seeds.
Chapter 25
I believe that Sam is a respectable person in the Green Lake community. I think that he makes a lot of people happy and he may or may not cure people when they are sick because no one knows if it's the onions or the doctor who makes the sick person healthy again.
Chapter 26
I believe that God punished the whole city because since the day of the murder not one single droplet of water came from the sky. So I believe that God punished the town and the area for anyone that would ever live there.
Chapter 27
I believe that the other boys are jealous of Stanley because he gets some of his hole dug which would relieve stress and more time for Stanley to relax. I believe the deal between Zero and Stanley is fair because Zero is really fast at digging and he wants to learn so he can let Stanley save some energy so he can teach Zero how to read.

Chapter 31
Chapter 32
Chapter 33
Chapter 34
Chapter 35
I believe that Stanley and Zeros relationship is very good at this part of the story because they are encouraging each other and they wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t like each other.
Chapter 36
I believe that Stanley learns that he would never would have been able to climb the mountain before he went to the camp so the camp has made him far more fit that he was before. I think Stanley learnt that Zero can actually help in situations and doesn't just do nothing.
Chapter 37
I believe that Stanley called Zero Hector to get his attention and say that they are now out of the camp and they can have there reals names again without having to call each other by their nicknames.
Chapter 38
I have not ever approached something that seemed impossible but I think if I would I would also approach it step by step not thinking about the whole thing.
Chapter 39
I believe that Zero confessed about the stolen shoes because he felt like he was going to die. I think he confessed then because he knew he wanted to tell Stasnely before he died.
Chapter 40
I believe that Stanley was surprised to find the shovel and jars so far down the mountain because he may have thought that he would have needed the shovel to help get up the mountain. Stanley was also surprised that the jars were still next to the shovel and they were not broken.
Chapter 41
I believe that it is true that if Zero had kept the shoes neither of them would be there because he dropped the shoes and if he would have kept them he wouldn’t need to of stolen new shoes.
Chapter 42
I believe that difference between destiny and coincidence is that destiny is something that is going to happen and it will determine something and coincidence is when you were in the wrong place in the wrong time or something failed because of something.
Chapter 43
When Stanley heard Zero’s stories he thought that his family could be homeless soon because in his mums last letter his mum said that there house might burn down because she could smell burning sneakers.
Chapter 44
