Chapter 1
What do you learn in this chapter about the setting of the camp based on its name? What would you imagine a place called camp green lake to be like? What was it really like?
I think the camp is where green water used to be ages ago that is how it got its name ‘camp Green Lake’. Now there is no lake but I think everyone wanted to keep the name anyway.
Chapter 2
Do you think digging holes builds character and why? What are some other unpleasant things.
I think digging holes does build character because when you get out of the camp you will be grateful for everything you have. This is because you are treated so badly at camp you will be grateful at home for what you have.
Chapter 3
What do you think Stanley's father means when he says you learn from failure.
I think he is trying to say when you make a mistake you can learn from it. When you fail something you try and find a way to fix it.
Chapter 4
What kind of tattoo does Mr Sir have? What does it tell you about him?
I think the rattlesnake Mr Sir has means he got bitten by one and he wants people to know he survived a rattlesnake bite. I think by doing this he is trying to show off to other people.
